1997 Founded
Wenzhou Weilan Optical was founded by Forrest and King, they opened their first factory, Wenzhou Weilan Optical Co., Ltd, and started the production of economical injected sunglasses in 1997. In the same year, Wenzhou Sunrise Industrial and Trading Co., Ltd started its international business, with a total of 6 people.
2005 Rapid development
With the rapid development of Sunrise's business in 2005, the service team increased their workers to 60 people within 7 years, and the factory was expanded to 4,000㎡.
2009 Acquired Xiamen POS
In 2009, in order to increase the quality of the injection mold, they acquired 90% of Xiamen POS Industrial and Trading Co., Ltd, which greatly enhanced the ability to serve high-end injection sports brands.
2011 Set up an acetate production center
In 2011, Wenzhou Weilan Optical set up an acetate production center with 80 people, and the acetate frame volume reached $5,000,000 that same year.
2015 Established Taizhou Shenlan
Sunrise strengthened the layout of the industrial chain in 2015. First, they set up a high-end metal production center, then opened a new factory in Taizhou (Taizhou Shenlan Optical Co., Ltd). In this same year, the company had 3 factories with over 600 employees and a total area of more than 20,000㎡.
2016 Became a large-scale industrial and trading enterprise
With the establishment of the injection mold center in 2016, Wenzhou Weilan Optical and Sunrise became a large-scale industrial and trading enterprise integrating design, development, production, and sales. Alongside ranking the top three in China in terms of production and sales of sunglasses.
2017 Upgraded Wenzhou Weilan Optical to the headquarters
In 2017, in order to attract customers in the high-end market, the company purchased a new factory of 20,000㎡ (5,000㎡ as QC room and office area, and 15,000㎡ as a high-end production center and upgraded Wenzhou Weilan Optical to the headquarters of Sunrise, focusing on high-end products while Sunrise focused on the manufacture of economical products and became the most cost-effective production center in Wenzhou.
2018 Established Jiangxi Weilan Optical
In 2018, at the invitation of the Jiangxi government, the company purchased a new factory and set up the most cost-effective injection molding production center called Jiangxi Weilan Optical in Jiangxi. This factory has a monthly production capacity of 400,000 pcs.
2020 Established the 1st overseas factory, Vietnam Weilan Optical
In October 2020, the first overseas factory, Vietnam Weilan Optical, began operations, fulfilling the procurement needs of the Vietnamese market. Even with the epidemic situation, the monthly production capacity of the factory was 80,000 pcs in 2021.
2021 Achieved twice the growth of the high-end business volume
At the end of 2021, the company had set up a top-grade injection molding production center with a planned monthly production capacity of 100,000 pcs. With the improvement of the high-end manufacturing capacity of Wenzhou Weilan Optical and Vietnam Weilan Optical, the company was able to achieve twice the growth of the high-end business volume.
2022 Continue developing
In 2022, the sunglasses and optical production were divided into 2 teams, alongside the testing of both economical injection molding production samples and high-end metal production samples in Vietnam.
